Alpha 1.2 - Particle System, Fighters and Linux Support
It wasn't long ago that I released the previous version, but I decided to release another version because why not. New features include a new nice particle system, fighters spawned from outposts and linux support. One day I decided to test if my game compiled alright on linux. It didn't. There were several pain in the ass compiler errors because apparently MSVC has non-standard C++ enabled by default, which caused errors when I went to compile on GCC. Thanks Microsoft! But the bigger pain in the ass was the linker errors which I got because I didn't know how to link libraries on linux. But I figured it out and now my game compiles without a hitch on linux! I went ahead and also setup continuous integration for linux on my github, which is neat (it automatically checks if the game builds on linux). In fact, building the game on linux is probably easier now than building on windows. Very cool. And I learned a lot about linux.
